My Article is Online + NaNoWriMo

As I mentioned in my last post, I wrote an article for Carleton University's student-run current affairs magazine, The Rostrum. At the time, the latest issue wasn't available online, but now it is!

My article can be found here, but if you want to check out the rest of the issue, you can find that right here. There are definitely some good articles to read in there, so have a look. If you prefer the hard copy, and you live in Ottawa, you can find the Rostrum around Carleton's campus.

Oh! And I almost forgot, NaNoWriMo. I want to try and get a podcast in this month, but it may not be in the cards because I'm taking part in the annual National Novel Writing Month, which takes place from November 1 - 30 every year. And it should probably be International Novel Writing Month (ItNoWriMo?) because pretty much everyone across the world participates.

If I reach the 50k benchmark before the 30th (unlikely, but I can try), then I will try to put together a "Music to Write Novels To" podcast for any of you out there still writing. And if I can't get it done in November, you can look forward to a "Music to Edit Novels To" podcast in December. Good luck to any fellow writers!

Episode #6 - Josh Woodward, Sylvain the Librarian, The Gasoline Brothers

This has actually been ready and out for a couple of weeks now, but I haven't had the chance to sit down and hammer out a blog post. Maybe I should do both of those at the same time in the future...hmm...

Well anyway, this episode is so far my favourite as far as music is concerned. Some awesome new stuff that sounds really good, as far as production is concerned. It all fits together quite nicely and it was a lot of fun to assemble.

Also, I mentioned in this podcast an article I wrote about Brad Sucks - well, it has reached publication and if you are a Carleton University student, you can pick up a copy there. My thanks to Brad Sucks for doing the interview, as well as the Rostrum Team for the help in the journey to get it ready for publication.

On a related note, Carelton University has a pretty good campus radio station, and they just revamped their website! Check them out at http://www.ckcu.fm. In particular check out Audio Sensory Resusscitation (I'm sure I butchered that, sorry Mike!), hosted by Mike Mersereau.

Quick note about Brad Sucks' Dirtbag, that came up in our interview. There was a remix of it that became quite popular, and was used in a trailer remix for Toy Story / Requiem for a Dream. It's pretty neat! Check it out here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D1qihwMN0JM

Okay, I think that's all the house keeping that I needed to do. Enjoy the podcast!!
